Here we all are in the strange new world of quarantine as the world is engulfed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Living in Los Angeles we have been given the “safer at home” declaration which is basically a slightly gentler version of “shelter in place”. This means I’m gonna have a lot of extra time to myself in my apartment. So far its all been blurring together and I realize I am going to need to create myself some structure if I want to make it through with my sanity. And in that, I am hoping to use some of my time more constructively. Since I need to cook anyway I might as well create some content.
Going to the grocery store has been an interesting experience. It’s weird to see whole sections basically wiped out and I know we are not alone. I have seen identical photos posted online from all over the country showing the same.. almost entire aisles of empty shelves. Basic staples aren’t even available, at least not by the time I get there. That got me thinking about what could be made with the random things that remain, what I may be able to do with components I have on hand but never really use every day, and what can be made with the most basic of cupboard staples.
So that’s what I’m hoping to write about in the coming updates. There will also be some other topics mixed in that have been lingering in the queue so it won’t be all pandemic all the time.
As more and more of us are asked to stay home as much as possible we are all looking for something to do and looking for something new to look at. I will try to do my part and create some content and hopefully give you something to read and maybe give you some ideas on how to pass the time as well.
We’re all in this together! So let’s try to have a little fun in the process.
I hope you are all well and doing everything you can to help prevent spreading this any further.
Stay safe and stay healthy!
