Meat-Themed Clothing. Still a trend? Really???

With the insane wave of bacon love that’s out there right now (and to be in direct opposition of M’s Meatless Monday features), I decided to look at bacon lover’s apparel choices when declaring their love for this salty, crispy wonder.  When I think of food apparel, Lady Gaga’s meat dress comes to mind first of course. I kind of love that fact. I found PLENTY of other meat-themed pieces of clothing to satisfy even the strangest of carnivores (and maybe even some cannibals). I don’t get it, but apparently enough people out there do that it’s still a thing. All the choices I found could make up an amazing runway show on “The Flintstones”. As much as I adore bacon (and I DO), wearing the inside of another animal’s flesh on my clothing is just plain gross to me. I’m sure we don’t look that different on the inside, and that grosses me out even more. Anyway, without further ado, the greatest hits:

Proof it started on the runway (Jeremy Scott).

And then it invaded EVERY category of clothing.

Scarves.

Shoes.

Socks (which I actually thought were kinda cute).

But then shorts.

And shirts.

Aaaaand then I found this.

And this.

And this.

And then I just gave up.

*The Baby Meat Dress in the first picture was designed by, of course, Lady Gaga.

About mel

Hello Fellow Food Enthusiasts! I am the East Coast Representation of Cast Iron & Wine. I'm a married gal in my late 30's, living in northeast Pennsylvania. The hubbs is really the one who does most of the cooking and experimenting, so I will mostly be describing his recipes and the results (good or bad). I will call him "M", like Moriarty. Expect Anthony Bourdain-level snark whenever possible from both of us. We only kinda became foodies in the last few years, so many many tastes are new to us. My posts fall mostly in the "what NOT to do" category, but I'm learning. I'm so excited that we have a venue like this to share food experiences!
