Richard was kind enough to bring me gifts from London, including three varieties of my favorite beverage in the world: Tea! These particular teas come from Tea Palace, and are oh so delightful. I almost thought Richard might attempt to keep the Earl Grey for himself, he was so intoxicated by the fragrance. Luckily for me, he did not, so I have been able to enjoy it, along with the Palace Breakfast and Afternoon at the Palace blends.
Now, I am excited for this gift for many reasons. First of all, each of the teas is delicious in its own way. My personal favorite is Afternoon at the Palace, but I think that choice is strongly sentimental, because it reminds me of having tea at my grandmother’s house. I’d walk in, she’d look up from her book (she read at least 5 books a week for as long as I can remember…my book-reading hero!), and say, “Oh, put the kettle on!” The funny thing is that she herself preferred coffee, and would drink that instead as we chatted. I am not even sure what kind of tea my grandmother bought, but whatever it was, Afternoon at the Palace just brings the memories flooding right back.
Another reason I love these teas is the packaging. As a woman who has been called “T” her entire life, it is awesome to know that when the tea leaves are gone, I will have 3 cute little “personalized” storage tins. And they have crowns above the “T”…how fancy!
The downside to these cute little canisters is that I am running out of tea at an alarming rate, and the Tea Palace website has so many choices that I could easily see myself spending a small fortune on an order…especially because I really REALLY want this hamper:
